its called Mocha Club
we are VERY excited about the different projects that Mocha Club has going on… the reason personally I have been so attracted to what Mocha Club is doing, is due to a trip I took to Kenya two years ago. It changed my life forever, in ways that I expected and a lot of ways that were unexpected. When the Band first got connected with Mocha Club.. I NEED AFRICA MORE THAN AFRICA NEEDS ME

When I think of Africa, the following images immediately come to mind: Starvation. AIDS. Child soldiers. Genocide. Sex slaves. Orphans. From there, my thoughts naturally turn to how I can help, how I can make a difference. “I am needed here,” I think. “They have so little, and I have so much.” It’s true, there are great tragedies playing out in Africa everyday. There is often a level of suffering here that is unimaginable until you have seen it, and even then it is difficult to believe. But what is even harder is reconciling the challenges that many Africans face with the joy I see in the people. hey friends..sorry its been awhile since our last post! but we are coming back around…

so check it out…today me (cameron) and a couple of buddies, jason & chris, went out to san francisco to do a little fun filming…

we decided it would be cool to shoot some videos on a really cool roof in that overlooks san francisco, and is close to the golden gate bridge…its a beautiful view..although it was high up and i was a little nervous of falling off while i played the song… the videos shot today were just acoustic videos, me and my guitar…due to the fact that we didnt have time to pull together the production for a full band acoustic video on the roof…but im working on the logistics for that…so maybe thats coming soon?

anyways heres a snap shot from the acoustic session…its gonna be really cool though! music on rooftops rule!

So we just got back from a pretty awesome weekend in the central valley and I must say out show in Visalia was one of the most fun shows I’ve ever played!  I don’t think I’ve ever been taken care of so well as a band than there.  Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out with merch, security, stage setup, you name it.  Visalia is an interesting place.  Not a whole lot.  In fact Jeremy asked the concierge at the hotel what points of interest Visalia had.  She stared at him and said that there were none.  Even the natives don’t hide that there isn’t much to do.  Which is great for when you put on a concert because everyone goes to it!  I hope to play more shows like that in the near future.

so i thought this would be cool to blog about..SEATTLE!

here in jaymes reunion we all love the city of seattle..for a couple of reasons…

A) its really awesome

B) our record label is located there

c) cool things happen when we go there!

so i got a chance to head up to seattle a few weeks ago, for a little hang time with folks from our record label, as well as some REALLY cool new friends from a bunch of cool radio stations, and not to mention a bunch of musicians! some of the guys from run kid run, hawk nelson, kutless, as well as my buddy chris taylor were all there. it was such a MONEY group of people!

tooth and nail records basically got us all together and scheduled a bunch of awesome events to do, and gave us an opportunity to make some new friends! we seriously have the coolest record label!

so it all started with a duck cruise! this bad boy can handle land or water…our tour guide was incredible! i cant really remember his name, haha, but besides that he was a memorable dude. he wore a sweet mullet whig, and laughed uncontrollably at his own jokes..he was a gem!

the next thing we did was went to the EMP (experience music project)- www.empsfm.org/

this place was AWESOME, just a whole museum dedicated to rock n’ roll, as well as science fiction. i know random right!? that kind of sums up musicians in general, we like rock n’ roll and a good ol’ sci- fi flick. we are strange creatures! i took this picture of this cyclone of guitars…it was incredible..but i was slightly depressed because there were tons of great guitars mounted on this thing..and i kind of wished i could have put them to better use!!! haha! oh well

so as you can see…pretty cool stuff!

after that we all had dinner and went bowling..i didnt take any pics of that though! sorry guys. but i will tell you this one thing about the night of bowling..the guys from RUN KID RUN, are great bowlers….it was pretty rediculous how good these guys were. and on top of it all, they had great celebrations for every strike or spare that they threw!
that was the end of the first day of our experience!

the next day we got up bright and early and everone went to TOOTH & NAILS office for breakfast as well as a session of rock band in the conference room!

so these are a few pics from the record label…where all the magic happens…i personally think that our record label has the COOLEST offices. the first picture is the reception area…although i havent EVER seen anyone sitting at that reception desk! the next two are the guys and girls bathroom doors….pretty cool right! gotta have those guitars in hand! and the last pic is of the conference room…if you look closely you will see the rock band drums under the tv screen….there were some pretty awesome rock band performances in that room!

after that we all went into another room and everyone played a couple of songs just with acoustic guitars and the radio stations folks got a really cool private concert from all the artist! it was awesome!

lastly after the little impromtu concert, we all went to teh seattle aquarium!

anyways after that it was straight to the airport for a quick flight back home to california! it was a quick but very fun trip! hopefully this post wasnt too long for you all! but i wanted to tell you guys about it!

Hello internets.  So it seems that we have a blog and I, being the guitar player in Jaymes Reunion, thought I should participate in such online tomfoolery. Well I have made a few upgrades in my life as of late.  The latest of which includes my new acquisition of a Bogner Duende amp(see picture).  For those of you who are guitar players or those who just like quality, hand-built craftsmanship, then you may know what I’m talking about. My old Fender Reverb is just too fragile to bring around with me to every show and practice to I needed something a little more stalwart and something with a little more intestinal fortitude (guts.) It seems that after I regained consciousness from passing out due to the green I had to dish out for such sonic bliss that I rather enjoy my new Bogner. A lot.  The difference between this amp and my other amps (or any other amp I’ve played through for that matter) is actually noticeable by leaps and bounds.  I am still figuring out all the tweaks but I must say that I couldn’t be more satisfied with the Bogner. I am looking forward to our practices and live shows to sound a whole lot better.  Thanks for reading.

Here is post 1 from the drummer… I don’t know about you all, but I find myself obsessing over one thing for a long time when the mood strikes. For instance, my current obsession is old-school bmx bikes. Why? I don’t know. It may have to do with the fact that I recently found an 98 24″ GT at a thrift store (the best kind of store, I might add) for a measly $60. And that someone abandoned a 20″ bike in front of my house that was heavily coated in rattle can, army green pain. And I mean the paint was on everything…tires, chain, seat…you name it.

So now in the process of fixing up these bikes, I am on craigslist and ebay every day looking for parts and dreaming of the ultimate retro bmx…that, for me being a 1983 Skyway TA. Those in the know may commence drooling…

so a few years back i went out on the five iron frenzy ‘winners never quit tour’…and there is one that i learned about from my time with them…i learned about strong bad emails( homestarrunner.com)!!!

anyways i was randomly scanning digg.com and ran across this…i am so excited about this..although i have no idea what to expect from it…so if its awful…dont blame me! BUT i dont know what could be bad about a cartoon character in a mexican wrestling mask with boxing gloves for hands..and then you put him in a video game…i mean to me, that just sounds like a win-win situation….here is the link to the article…enjoy!
